I'm getting a Zt0561 in trade, if I sent it to Kai would they do the modifications to ad the steel insert? Or am I stuck with it the way it is?

I remember before I took a break from collecting that they were doing this but they ended up stopping iirc.
You can call and ask, ZT usually has good warranty service.

If it's solid, just use it the way it is. If you have an issue or wear it out, they will probably replace it with the updated version.

I think you have to make the lock bar engage a lot more before you can send it in and they'll mod it with the steel insert.
One of my ZT's took only maybe 3 weeks of flipping (and I wasn't flipping it to wear it down either) before the lock bar started sticking when i flicked the knife open. I sent it in with the warranty form and it came back with the steel insert.
