Howdy, Briggz

I know this is late and you may be gone, but quite alright to get back to me when you return from vacation. Pls bear with me through a couple of questions, sites are realllly slow to load tonight.

First, ZT=Zero Tolerance, right? I thought these blades were thinner than 1/4", but not true?

2nd Your ZTSJ is satin finish=bare metal, right?

3rd What is "zero-edge geometry" (this is another thing I could look up for myself tonight if connections weren't so f'ing sloooooow)?

Yes, ZT = Zero Tolerance. They were 3/16" thick, I believe, and are bare metal.

Zero edge means that there is no (or a very small) secondary edge bevel - ie. the primary bevel goes all the way to the edge. If you can get to the link above to badmojo there is a good explanation of these by Jerry there.

The ZTSJ was the only element of the Zero Tolerance line that wasn't 3/16ths. They were 1/4".

From Jerry, via badmojo:

We sent the blades to a different Blanchard grinding facility and had the thickness of all of the blades reduced to .187 (3/16"). These models are only offered with tan handles and do not come with a sheath. There is an optional sheath available, which will be added to our website within the next couple of days.

There is a Zero Tolerance (tan handles, 2/3 grind with swedge grind) Satin Jack model but it is at the regular SJ thickness of approx. 1Ú4" and is priced at $347.00 There will only be 100 of this model made.

None of the Zero Tolerance models are serial numbered.

These knives are much lighter than the regular models by approximately 30 - 35% (6 oz.)

They have a satin finish and zero edge geometry.

Broos, rbmcmjr (Rick). I'm straight now. I can actually get into the badmojo site today!

Rick, I posted a thanks to you on another thread this forum, too .

Now I'm confused- if they're the full .25" thick why are they lighter?

I know that's what Jerry said, but I think it only applied to the big boys. The ZTSJ is its own creature. If anything, I would figure it was the heaviest SJ offered.
