ZT Warranty!

So today I received my 0550 back from ZT for a blade replacement. I had a nasty chip and uneven grind (my fault) so I sent it in. I've read and heard that when they replace blades, they use sterile blades, but mine came back with full laser engraving... including the original serial number. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Has this happened to anyone else or did you receive a sterile blade?

Are sure they didn't just sharpen the bad places out?

100% positive. I polished the spine on the original and the new one is not. It's unmistakably new!

Very cool! I have a ZT0620 I just sent off to them for Blade Replacement (dropped it from a 20 foot ladder on to concrete). I will be interested to see what kind of blade comes back on it!

I know that all too well...
Luckily my knives were closed (or partially closed) when they've fallen, or I'd probably have a few broken blades myself.

About 6 months ago I sent out a 560 for lock rock and it came back with a new titanium lock side with the steel lockbar insert, a fresh new blade with the same serial number on it and they also included the old blade that they replaced. I thought that was pretty cool.

Very cool! I didn't get my old blade but didn't want it anyway. This very knife is a gen 1.5 that received a new lockside when I sent it in a few years ago. I've never been disappointed by their customer service. They really aim to please.

Im thinking its a newer rolling change they have made. Used to get a sterile blade and now they laser em up. Pretty cool to see them put that kind of effort in!

I think it depends on the cost of the knife. But I had a 0560 they did the same thing for.

I just (finally) ordered a 620CF - I am excited to see a ZT Emerson, having only seen and handled the Kershaw Emerson designs.

Mine was actually a 620CF. Absolutely love it. I also have the 620 and love it just as much. They are great knives but then again all ZTs are!

Great to hear. They have a 560 I just sent in for premature lock bar wear. I wouldn't mind either way if they replaced the blade.
