ZT0055 rattle in pivot

Has anyone else noticed a rattle in the pivot area of their Zt 0055? Almost sounds like there's a loose bearing or piece of metal in there shaking around.

This isn't the type of knife I want to disassemble...
 
Thanks, contacted them. Just wondering if anyone else had issues, or if it was the SLT tab.

First time I've had an issue with a ZT, but I'm sure they'll make it right.

I'll send it back and see.
 
Count me in. Just shipped a ZT 0909 to KAI for the same issue (blade rattles in closed position when being shaken). Will update when the knife is back.
 
Yes, my 0055 has a slight rattle in the pivot area. I have to really shake it, and it's very faint. In fact, I didn't even notice it until this thread. I'm wondering if it could be the extra bearings in the SLT? Check out around 5:30 in this video. It doesn't bother me, personally, but I would be interested to hear what ZT has to say about it (just in case it's something I should be concerned about o_O). :thumbsup:

 
Just received a phone call from KAI today. They told me that’s part of the KVT system and normal. I have my doubts, as I’ve owned several ZT knives and this is the first that has had this issue.

Doesn’t affect the performance of the knife, but it is annoying.
 
OK - just want to update about my 0909. The blade wiggled a bit up and down in closed position, likely due to a too large detent hole. So the issue may not be the same as the OP's. Anyway, a 2-week round trip to KAI and now it is flawless.
