Just picked up a ZT0200 and love the knife so far, been flipping it nonstop since I got it and happy with the action. With that being said I would prefer a stronger detent to it, not that there is an issue with this one, just preference. I have heard of people taking it apart and bending the lock bar inward more to stiffen it up. Would anyone recommend this or will it mess up the lockup, action etc. I am more than comfortable with my abilities to take it apart and bend it just making sure this won’t cause issues is not bent perfectly straight and evenly. Also those who have done it how far did you bend the lock? ¼”?

It can be done and with no ill effect if you are careful. Some like to say its not the proper way to adjust a detent which to that I say its the way most companies try to correct it before replacing parts. I mean if the guy who set the lock in the first place doesnt bend it enough on the first try or maybe even overshoots it, he doesnt throw away this whole lock side when he could simply tweak it again and be perfectly fine. The thing to remember is that very small adjustments can make a huge difference in the feel of the detent. Sometimes you wont even be able to physically see that the lock bar has moved. Also remember that with any increase in lockbar pressure there will be an increase in friction on the blade as it rotates as the detent will be pressing harder into the blade as it rotates. The 0200 has a coated blade though which helps the detent ball glide so you may not notice a difference in that. You also dont want to bend it too much or you may find the lock will be harder to disengage. All in all its perfectly doable and I have performed this mod on countless knives with no ill effects.

ZT0200 detents range from dangerously weak to very strong and secure.

I wouldn't recommend messing with the lockbar tension, I would send it in to ZT so that they can fix it properly, by enlarging the detent hole or whatever they feel like doing.

I just ordered some nano-oil so when that gets here in a week or so (after a week of solid flipping) I can take it apart and clean/lube everything. Hopefully that and a slight slight tweak may be just what im looking for. Kinda hesitant to send it in as it really isnt a problem, just a preferance thing.

A flipper that doesn't flip right sure is a problem. If your car gets you to your destination but the engine is knocking, don't you get it checked out? Just because the knife doesn't cost hundreds or thousands it doesn't mean it shouldn't be expected to work well.
