Question for the ZT0200 owners. After break in do you find the need to use wrist action when opening or does the detent and flipper do well enough without any wrist action. In order for good action does the pivot need to be loosened to the point where there is side to side play?

I don't need any wrist action with mine. It is a nice flipper - a bit slower than some but smooth as silk and no blade play of any kind. :)

All you need is proper form and a strong index finger. Loosening the knife to the point of it almost falling apart would indicate user error.

I had trouble with the one I owned. It wasn't that it wasn't smooth. The detent on it was very weak. It was hard to get good flipping action because I couldn't build up enough energy before the detent would let go. Maybe I could have worked on my technique but I sold it instead. Kind of regret it but I like a strong detent. My 0560s are nice and strong and flip awesome.

Mine has the same problem. The detent is a little weak, and I need to use some wrist action. I can also shake it out. I didn't think it was a problem until you pointed it out...Thanks, usually my wife is the only one who points out my problems

Mine opens with no wrist action. Firm detent, but not as strong as some of the newer models. (Personally, I prefer the stronger detent.) Very smooth action after wearing in. Rock solid lockup with no blade play whatsoever.

No wrist needed here. It's a hefty blade so not as fast as most but still works nicely. I recently took mine completely down, cleaned it, lubed the pivot, and added a little extra detent strength. This made a smooth knife even smoother.

I did not have to use wrist when I owned one. You just need to have a good push button method.

I have the satin finish, KW version, mine flips better than most of my ball bearing pivot flippers

Make sure it's clean, broken in, and maybe add a drop of oil. I recommend Nano Oil over anything else, I had and sold 0200 way before I ever bought a bottle and it was still an awesome flipper even then. I do miss it.

I have been carrying my 0200 every day since 2007. I only took it apart once to clean it. Dude.....it whips out. Lightning fast. People think it is an auto. There is zero side to side movement, and no up and down either. Knife has been trouble free all these years.

My 0561 opens very fast. It has real strong detent and you have to pull hard on the flipper to overcome the detent. At that point the blade opens quickly. However I've noticed that it depends on how the knife is held- if it is held horizontal or even pointing down a little bit, gravity helps the opening. If held pointing up then there may not be enough inertia to overcome gravity.

My 0200 has less detent and more friction, and does take a little wrist action to open. It is new though and hasn't had time to break in a little bit.

I bought mine from Craytab. Indeed, the detent is a little weak which is why it is slow as mentioned in post #2, above. Cleaned and lubed it just a tad and it works great now - aside from the detent. Love the knife. :)

Ah, that's right. I bought it from comeuppance. It was a great knife. I just like a stronger detent. Didn't want to take it apart and fiddle around with it. Glad you are enjoying it!

Not to side rail the thread but if your fingers are touching the locking bar this would make the 0561 more difficult to open, it took me a while to realize this.

As for the 0200, mine flips well but it does have a light detent. I did loosen the pivot a tad and made sure its lubbed properly.

As I recall, comeuppance disliked his (this) 0200. This 0200 seems to be part of a pass-around :) I love mine, its just impractical for my EDC needs. Doesn't mean I don't carry it, just not as much as I would like too.
