I got a 0200 for Christmas, and have been wondering about the liner lock. When the knife is open, the liner only engages the left side of the blade, instead of the center of blade. It seems to lock up solid, but I would think it would be mechanically stronger if it was positioned behind the center of the blade. Does anyone know if this is normal? Thanks!

This is normal. A well made liner lock will take a lot of use before the mating parts are worn enough for the liner to move that far. Some liner locks will move all the way to the right early in it's life. This is also not a problem as long as it does not stick or cause blade play. However this is a definite precursor to blade play possibly occurring. Fortunately Kershaw has outstanding customer service. If anything does go wrong they will make it right.

My only requirement for a liner lock is that it fully engage the blade for 100% of it's width (lock that is).

It has not caused me any problems to have the liner lock engage early.

My ZT 0200 is just like yours, and I have had no problems. It is also a thick liner lock. I have a few Buck knives where the liner lock is half as thick as the 0200.

As SOLEIL said - the liner lock will engage further towards the right with time and use.
