Just got one of these from everyones favorite pharmacy. It is an awsome knife. Not as big and heavy as I expected, but still a bit on the heavy side. The F+F is perfect as is the lock up. The swell in the middle of the handle creates a hot spot for me, but for this knife I can get used to it. If you ever thought about getting one, don't. They get addictive fast, I am already wanting a MUDD:). Just thought I would add another good mark for ZT and the 0200.

Anybody know how thick the MUDD is compared to the 0200?

Haven't measured them, but the MUDD is the same thickness all the way from front to back, while the 0200 is sculpted and gives various measurements. I would say that the MUDD and 0200, at it's thickest point, are very close in thickness. I will tell you that the handle of the MUDD is very comfortable to me and I have medium large hands. You might as well go ahead and spring for the MUDD since you will think about it until you do..................I know, been there, done that! Ended up that the MUDD has become my favorite ZT!!

Not counting the clips, my 0200 is 0.745 in at the widest point (0.632 at the narrowest) and the 0500 is 0.811 in. at the lock release. Otherwise the 0500 is about 0.745 at the pivot and about 0.713 at the narrowest.

Thanks for the info. I think I am going to hold off on the MUDD for two more weeks so the 0200 can get some quality use. I know if I have two ZT's I will have to carry both and use both at the same time. It would be heavy and I will probably be labeled as a crazy knife nut. After the I get the MUDD, I will probably send it to Tom Krein for a regrind.

I carry one of my ZT0200 as one of my 2 EDC's, and I don't care who thinks I'm crazy for packin' such a large, heavy folder...In-fact, I'd love to have a ZT0200 with a 5.4 inch blade.

Use, and I really mean use the MUDD for a while before you send it to Tom. While a regrind from him is amazing, I personally wouldn't do it because of the abilities of the MUDD. The thing is a beast, yet lighter than the 0200. To me, thinning out a tough work blade kinda defeate the purpose. Just my 0.02...

If I had alot of tough work to do, I might reconsider. Most of my knife chores are mundane and the real reason I carry a knife is because I like them. I hate when edges are too thick so that is why I want to have it kreined. I will hold off on getting the MUDD reground for a little while, because I am pretty sure I can thin it out by myself, but the 0200 is a little more difficult with the recurve. I like the feel of a heavy duty folder but I want it to cut really well.

The MUDD has a very good edge as it comes and you might be satisfied with it as is. Course I hear that the Krien edge is nothing more than a laser cutting through everything it comes into contact with!:thumbup::thumbup:

My Mudd just arrived, via our friends at GPK the other day. I must say, it's quite unlike any other knife I've seen. The lock appears to function as a stop pin as well, completely internally so that nothing can get gummed up by lint or mud, or... well, anyway, the mudd seems to be one of the most fool-proof designs out there (I know, I know, it's still not a fixed blade, but...) Mine does seem to have a fairly week "Detent" so I may send it back to Kershaw for a tune-up, in time, but other than that, F&F is close to flawless. So far, I really like the mechanism, and would like to see it implemented in future designs. (particularly, something with .2" or thicker blade stock, more tip strength, etc.etc.etc.. :) Kind of, the ER Fulcrum, of ZT folders. And, since the Mudd is designed to get wet and dirty, maybe use H-1... )

You can tighten the pivot a hair and fix it yourself if you want. Just find two small nails, drill bits, or something like that, place them in the small holes of the pivot opposite of one another. Just take a small screwdriver and place the shank between the two and turn clockwise. You will need to hold on to the nails and only tighten in small increments. This should take care of the problem.
