im looking to pick up a ZT0200. knife works has one thats exclusive to there site i guess. looking at the specs on knife works they list the blade length at 3 7/8 the standard 0200 is listed at 4 in. does the 0200KW have a shorter blade or did they post the cutting edge length? in my state you can legally carry a knife with a blade under 4 in if concealed. anybody have have a 0200KW and a ruler handy? i really want to add one to mt ZT collection, but it would be nice to be able to carry it! thanks for the help

Must be a misprint. or maybe there measuring it from the middle because the bolster is slanted. the cutting edge is deffinatly 4 inches, if you put the ruler to the bottom of the scale its a hair longer.

Hey montainbound, I Wouldn't worry about .125 of an inch!

Unless you're doing stupid with your 0200, who going to know or care if it's a little over the limit. It won't be a cop who just happens to be
walking around with a tape measure their pocket.:D:D

From AKTI website on how to mesure a blade:

e. There is considerable variation in the design and construction of knives, knife blades and handles. Where there is reasonable confusion as to either the tip of the blade or the forward-most aspect of the hilt or handle, AKTI recommends that the measurement which will yield the shortest dimension be utilized, unless the same would result in an absurd or obviously impractical result.

Based on this method the ZT 0200KW and the ZT 0200 are NOT 4" blades. Guess it depends on how you measure. Not going to try and give legal advice here but if I had to explain to authorities what the blade length is I would use the dementions provied by the manufacture, the retailer I purchesed it from and what was advertised, and the AKTI standard. I put a link to the site so you can read the whole thing. They even show how to take the mesurment.

Hope this helps.
