I've had my ZT three weeks+- and love the thing. That wide blade looks menacing and the super cool texture on the scales blow me away, the green G10 is a great color.
However, I just had to put the boy on a diet. I am a lightweight person and wanted a lighter knife, the size does not present a problem.
1. Sent the blade(as so many have done) to Tom Krein for thining, swedge extending, and straightening of the recurve. As you will see he did a masterful job. He took the edge to .020", which is good for a BIG knife.
You can still see the "ZT" on the flats.
2. Machined slots in the liner and plowed recesses in the lock slab to cut weight as well.

I haven't put it together yet to see just how much lighter it is, that you will see next week. see following

That is one fine looking regrind. :thumbdn:
How does Tom Krein find all the time to do these
regrinds? Every time I turn around there's another story.

Just from the pics you can tell he does an excellent job.

I will faithfully return soon w/ pic's.
Tom IS a great guy, he was busy w/BLADE SHOW but he sliped in my blade.:D

That looks great, I like how you can still see the ZT on the blade.

I can't wait to see the pics of it put together!!

Super...looks fantastic!

I was wondering how Tom would approach a regrind on one of these and now I know.

Like everyone else, I'm looking forward to your thoughts and pictures after reassembly.

Thanks, gull wing...

Ray :)
