Just got it and the blade touches the non locking side liner when closed. Will the warranty cover it?

You can try to tighten it up a little bit and see what that does for centering. If it doesnt help try looseing all the handle screws and the pivot screw and wedge a small piece of paper in between the blade and non locking side ( you may have to play with the size of the paper thickness) and start from the back of the handle and work your way towards the pivot. You may have to play with tension or tightness on the screws to get it just right. If that doesnt work you could contact them about sending it in and yes the warranty would cover it.

It doesn't sound like an issue that would require warranty work to me. There are very simple ways to center the blade. Bad Juju is explaining the trick.

I think I'm going to send it in. I really like the knife and IMO for the price the blade shouldn't rub on the liner. I appreciate the tip if it was a cheaper knife I would attempt to fix it myself.

Its really not that hard and if you cant get it right it is still covered by warranty. I really think you should reconsider. It happens to all knife manufacturers at all price points.

Another thought is where did you get it from, you might want to contact them about a refund or replacment. See if they can inspect it before they ship it out to you.

I might try it I just don't like the fact there will be paper in my knife.

Sorry I should have been more clear before. You pull the paper out in the end and its should stay centered if done correctly.

My 0350sw went off center not long after I got it. I managed to keep it from rubbing using the paper trick but it's still not centered. It seems to be a common trend with the 0350s more than not? And warrenty doesn't really do the trick everytime either.
But I still like it, was my first ZT, and it's a user anyway.

Use the paper trick like bad_juju said. Just be patient as it may take a few times. I've had to do it on a few so far. I wouldn't worry about getting it perfectly centered either. I have a lot that are not "perfectly" centered. Good luck.

I'm not worried about it been perfectly centered I just don't want it to rub on the side.

Thanks for the help I tried its still really close to the liner but its not rubbing so im ok with it.

If the paper trick doesn't work just keep playing with the tightness of the body screws as well as pivot screws. 0350's can be a little tricky to center and sometimes mine infuriates me but be patient and keep messing with it. It will center eventually.

Topcatpt, looks like you resolved the issue to your satisfaction.

If not and you purchased it new from an authorized dealer you might consider bad_juju's suggestion and try contacting them and returning and exchanging the knife.

Also you might also try the tip at this link http://http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/group.php?discussionid=88&do=discuss

Not all that different than what is happening with the paper trick, but it helps illustrate what is really happening, and you can still use the paper. You shouldn't have to worry about varying the screw tension in different spots.

Thanks for linking that Glenn. I've saved it to photobucket, with proper props given.

wait a minute here, I had "courtesy of kneedeep" on there...I know what will fix it...

sorry about the delay, but it seems BF went down for about 20 minutes...

here's kneedeep's graphic:

Well it lasted about a half a day and the blade is up against the side again. I tried all of the tricks I guess it's off to the warranty service.
