Hey everyone.. I recently bought a (new) ZT0350 off of eBay... I paid $111.95 ... yet the best price I can find anywhere else is about $140, what's with the difference? Sort of worried I don't have a legit knife here.. yet I don't see how a fake one could be as well made as the one I have. There is a small "blem" on the G10.. but the item wasn't marked as a blem, nor is the blade with the xxxx. Just kind of curious as $30 difference is a decent bit.

You need to post pictures. Nobody can answer your questions without seeing the knife.

$30 is small time.. dude prolly just wanted some money and the demand isn't there to push price up.. I wouldn't worry about it :)

Just an fyi, you can find the 0350 XXXX for about $110...so the price you paid is actually the going rate online for the 0350. If you bought it from a reputable seller I wouldn't worry too much about it.

(( not a paid Bladeforums Dealer ))

Sorry, I'll post some! Hopefully not to late to return it if it isn't the real deal.. the seller is still selling them at the same price. If it is, well.. I'll do what I can to give them some hell about it I guess.

I'm not super worried about it.. I haven't handled too many knives, but enough to know the one I have isn't a cheapy china made knife.. I don't believe it's fake or anything.. although it does make me worry a little bit, I'm just really curious as to how one person can sell $30 cheaper than everyone else. They're not a large seller either.

They're all there.. hopefully you can see all of them, I took several.. it lets me 'next/prev' through all of them, if you need me to post individually to the thread I can. :)

You can see the deformity on the G10 scale near the thumbstud on the second picture.

Have a ZT0550 that's supposed to be here today too (no $30 savings on it unfortunately, paid $200).. actually.. mail should be here about now, I should go check. :p
I've walked out a few times to check before and the mailman would be a few houses down... I have him on an internal timer already and my addiction just started a couple months ago! :D

EDIT: Slacker is late today!

Just an idea but perhaps this dealer is selling off stock that was bought before the price increase? Maybe he's being a good guy and not taking advantage of the price difference he could get since the price change as I imagine dealer cost went up WITH the MSRP increase also. What I'm saying is.........dealer A (your guy) bought the knives from a distributor before the price increase so he paid say..........(guessing) $70 each for them. He can now sell the knives for what you bought them for. Dealer B bought his after the price increase so he paid $100 (again guessing) so he needs to sell them at a higher price point. Then you have dealer C that takes advantage of his customers by having old stock he bought at the earlier price point and bumping it up to the new $140 price. Kind of like going to the gas station and they've jacked the price up three times in a week whereas the tanker truck was only there once at the beginning of the week.

Very good point Ovalman.. I didn't know there had been a price increase as I just recently found the 0350, I don't think it's a fake or anything.. I've not handled a ton of knives, but this one certainly speaks quality in my opinion. It's what convinced me to buy an 0550. It came out of the box perfect which is more than I can say for my Emerson/Spyderco's (which I still love to death, just took a little tune up to get them in the right condition out of the box).
