No one's really talking about this knife, and finding photos of it on the internet is close to impossible...anybody have this knife or decent photos?

Probably too big/crazy for me, but, worth looking into.

TAD Gear has ZT knives. They are currently taking pre-orders for that knife.

Why on earth do I like this knife? I can't stop looking at it. I must have a screw loose. This is almost a fantasy knife...

Because subconsciously you are a fan of a Strider style "nightmare grind". Next thing you know, you'll be craving the Boker/Wagner, "Reality Based Blade". ;) :D

Not a bad looking piece, although the grind in the 1st picture you posted looks different from the Strider, NM style grind in the 2nd picture.

I just received this knife. I It is kinda fugly, but for some reason i liked it. It is a strange cross between a strider knife and an onion knife. So here are the first impressions:
1. excellent fit and finish (unlike some striders, but like many kershaws).
2. good AO (not too strong, not too weak).
3. Modified liner lock (but still a liner lock.) The knife seems to beg for a stud lock, like the spec-bump, but alas...
4. The cool thing is that the grippy inlay is only on one side, clip side is smooth, with allows for easy deployment (and saves the pants).
5. unlike my Ti/ZDP leek, it came very sharp.
6. Handle ergos are excellent.
7. Blade thickness is just right for this type of knife, thick enough to be strong, thin enough not be a sharpened prybar.

Awesome! How did you procure one so early?

Can I get some photos of it? How does it compare in size to a minigrip? Give me a good size understand if you might.

I pre-ordered on tadgear.com. No photos, my digital camera is dead. Size is much larger than the minigrip. It is similar dimensions to MT LCC and BM 710. One more thing - I am not a big fan of liner lock, even though i own a few (e.g. MT LCC), I have to say that the flipper on ZT makes it reasonably safe in the event of lock failure. Hope this helps.

One more thing, the nightmare grind (at least on mine) is not as pronounced as it appears on the pictures - i consider it a positive.

Art Mart,

I want a ZT 0400 too. (why can't they have names?)

The 0400 is basically a cross between a Spec Bump (length/blade steel/coating) and a Kershaw Tanto Blur (handle aluminum/trac-tec inserts/liner lock).

Its about the same size as the Spec Bump, but with the weight of the Large Cyclone. And of course there is the Nightmare grind...and the fact that Zero Tolerance knives are next to impossible to find.

The pocket clip looks a little small, doesn't it? I think a good pocket clip should be at least 1/2 the length of the handle. Just my two cents...

I have and frequently carry an MT LCC. It is night and day better looking than that monstrosity.

Art Mart,

I think its heavier because the blade is thicker than the Spec-bump. Its also a metal handle with liner instead of G-10 and Stud-lock.

I still want one.

Ken Onion calls this one the "Scavenger"

The reason that this clip is a little on the small side is the fact that it is a generic clip that we came up with to work on all ZT knives. On the 0200 and 0300's the clip mounts in 4 ways, having a smaller clip made it easier to place on all of our knives.

Not even(IMHO)!

See opinions like this, it's like what draws us to women of different shapes and sizes.

You might like 'em plain and prim, I MIGHT like women a little slutty. Doesn't make either one right.

You call it a monstrousity, do you have an appreciation for what it takes to design and produce a knife of this complexity? It might change your whole approach if you did.

Best Regards,

Umm, I own both, the LCC and 0400 - what does that make me - an equal oportunity knifenut?
