I purchased the ZT0470 when it was first released. The flipping action from this initial run was uncharacteristically less crisp than the ZT's we've come to know and appreciate. Almost every popular knife reviewer that I'm aware of noted the same issue and that the detent was a tad bit soft. One reviewer stated that flipping the ZT0470 required a little bit of focus otherwise it's easy to misfire. That has been my experience too. The action isn't horrible, but it's certainly not as sure-fire and crisp as the ZT0450, 0452, 0562, etc..
Months later, I've noticed a subtle design improvement to the ZT0470's scales. The fine textured lines running along the scale chamfer went from almost imperceptible to the eye and touch, to much more noticeable and pronounced. I've noticed knife reviewers who examined this lot all stated the flipping action was nice and crisp, or had no complaint at the very least.
Can anybody confirm if the detent and flipping action has improved over the initial lot? Is it now comparable to the ZT0450/0452/0562?
