First off, let me say that I absolutely love this knife, clip issue or no! My problem stems from the fact that I like to have a tight pivot. I have adjusted my 0500 so that the pivot is tighter, but when opening it the clip will twist around in my hand somewhat giving me the feeling of it coming loose. Of course it is not coming loose, its just that I am putting more pressure on it with my fingers due to the tighter pivot and the fact that the clip is l-o-n-g-e-r than most, and that allows the clip to twist when it is under more pressure. Now, how to fix this to my satisfaction? I took the clip off and began to look at it and an idea begin to formulate in my little pea brain. What if I took the little dohicky off that is on top of the clip, used my Dremel and cut off the part of the clip that has the original attachment hole, enlarge the the dohicky hole, bend the piece of the clip with dohicky hole now enlarged, so that I have a foldover clip, then drill a hole through the topside so that I can put the torx bit through to tighten the new attachment screw. NOW I have a clip that no longer twists in my hand, still puts the entire knife in my pocket, and actually looks better, to me.

I don't mean to insult anyone by doing this, but I wanted to make it more user friendly for myself. Now I love the ZT0500 even more!:thumbup::D

I keep promising pictures, but I don't have a digital camera as my ex took it with her. Been trying to get my cuz to sit down long enough so we could set up the host and then do pics using his camera.

I will say that the clip is hardened spring steel and you will need at least a cobalt drill bit to get through it. I used a hardened steel bit and all it did was wear its tip off! Btw, I did the hole as 1/8th. It looks really good if I say so myself and it just gives the clip a firmer purchase so that my fingers don't twist it now.

That sounds like a great idea and you have the knife the way YOU like it.
Don't we all modify our EDC's a little, for that o-so-perfect fit?

I would definitely like to see the pics.

Can't promise pics anytime soon but I'm definately working on it. Just got to get cuz off his butt to help me out. Again, it really does look good and actually more streamlined as it doesn't have the clip going all the way across the backend. Got it in my pocket as I type this and the only thing you can see is the black clip on the outside of my pocket. Kershaw did this clip shape perfect as it is thin enough to pass for a pen clip. Btw, I have covered my clip with some 3M Stair Step tape so when you go to pull it out your fingers get a really good grip. I usually cover all my clips with this stuff.

I ran across a post about there being a new style clip for the ZT0500. How would I know if the ZT I have has the newer clip? Mine has a bod of 1/08. I really like the way I've set it up now and no plans to change it as it is work marvelously (Reader Digest word:)) for me, just curious about the new clip.
