I have had my ZT0500 for nearly a year. I have carried it more than any other of my edc's in that time, and it is currently my edc as I type this. I've not had any problems whatsoever with the knife and the pivot is as slick as the day it came. My problem is that I am too curious at times. Last night I was sitting enjoying some TV while I messed with my 0500. Then I made the descision to relube the 0500 with some of the new Miltec lube I had gotten back at Christmas. Took it apart, paying close attention to every detail. After I got it to the point where I could remove the blade, I went ahead and cleaned it really good with a degreaser, dried it, then applied some of the Miltec to the pivot area and along the flats of the blade at the spot the pb washers fit. Very carefully I replaced the seal and closed the aluminum frame back up. Then I placed the G-10 handle back in place, taking care to fit the lock and the two coil springs in to the frame in the correct position. Put the pivot screw in place, then the screws holding the G-10 in place, and tightened them all up. Now I like the pivot to be tighter than most people would prefer and with a little work I finally got it set to my "sweet spot". Although there was nothing wrong to begin with, I found out that the Miltec made the pivot even slicker/smoother than before. While in the knife I found that there are two small phillip screws that hold the lock plate to the outside release switch and I tightened them about a half turn. Not that they were loose, I just do things like that! Anyway can't say it made any real diffrence except to stiffen the switch a little. Anyone else tinkered with their MUDD, or maybe their Kershaw Ram, as the locks are the same, and what were the results? The ZT0500 MUDD is one rockin' knife!!
