Well thank you Mr. DapperDan, that's why I added that part in my post.

So I am curious though- The ZT website comes up with the 550 when you type it in and you're saying it's never been produced yet? I've typed in 551 and that doesn't come up at all.

the ZT 0550 was originally going to be produced around now, and there never was going to be an 0551. however, they had trouble with the steel supply, and so are changing that. to keep up people's expectations, they released i think 1000 0551s, which are the same knife except with different steel. the 0550 is coming, just not now.

if i am completely crazy, please tell me, but that is my understanding.

I don't think anyone will care if the 0551's keep showing up. Went camping this weekend and I'm really liking mine
