Im dying to have the Brous but don't have the money for it.. Idk if I should wait until I do get the money for it, seeing as they only have 500 or so for production.. Or sell my ZT0560?

What would you do?

I love the ZT.. But something about the Brous keeps capturing my eye. I have only carried the ZT but have never used it except to cut a few pieces of paper to show off Elmax.

Thanks for your help in advance!

The Brous is Limited edition...the 0560 is a production knife. You will always be able to get another ZT, not so true with the Brous. Just a thought.

Once they're gone...they're gone. That's pretty definite. But, going too fast can be just as bad as going too slow. Just be careful. Have a beer; calm down.

It sounds like you're already advertising your knife..."have never used it except to cut a few pieces of paper" so maybe you've made up your mind without knowing it.

If Microtech made a blade with a Spyderhole, it'd look like the SS flipper! Just joking around.

Anyhow, if you're dead set on getting the Brous, as others have said, the 0560's will be easier to find in the future.

Personally, I wouldn't trade a thirty dollar folder straight up for one of those Brous things, but that's just me.

If you like it that much then trade or sell whatever you would need to trade or sell to get one. I don't really understand the thread. Are you asking us to make the decision for you?

This?

i don't get it

Everybody on this forum has individual tastes...why the op is having his likes criticized is beyond me...if you don't agree with his tastes...don't comment in his thread.

I'm not criticizing. I am saying i don't understand the utility of that design.

There are a LOT worse out there, and plenty that I WOULD criticize. This one just leaves me with a bit ?

May I ask what you mean by "cut a few pieces of paper to show off ELMAX?"

What exactly do you think cutting paper shows, other than edge sharpness? Just wondering.

Old timer never heard of elmax at work.. And said it was some cheap non sharp Chinese steel.. And that the knife couldn't cut paper.. Stupid that I had to show him, but I did.

It was just to get a opinion.. Im still new to then knife world, and want to get some advice and opinions from some of you veterans. Sorry if my thread upsets you.

Personally, I'd keep the 0560. It's an excellent, full-sized EDC, which is the knife I most like to use. The Brous is interesting, but much smaller and less versatile as an EDC, if that's what you need. I'd worry about that flipper. When the knife is closed, it hangs out pretty far. When it's open, it seems to limit use of the Wharncliffe edge, although not the point. The giant hole is interesting, and maybe useful for self-defense, but otherwise it doesn't seem all that useful and it must make the blade much weaker.

Both knives have good steels. Elmax might be a bit better, but CPM-D2 is also excellent. Probably a wash, unless you need full stainless.

I don't know about the collection value, but as an EDC, I'd have more use for the 0560.

You seem to be less worried about the utility of the knives than their gut appeal. So follow your gut.

The utility of the design is that, with the point lower than the theoretical midline of the handle, it makes it easier to start the cut, and easier to control the point. It's not much of a skinning knife, but for general utility work, wharncliffe blades seem to work better.

I don't like the looks of the SS at all. That and the fact that the ZT is an awesome awesome knife. I'd keep the ZT

The thread doesn't upset me, I just don't fully understand what kind of information you're asking for. These two knives are so different. So since it seemed you wanted opinions I gave you mine. The 0560 is a great knife and makes a great EDC, the Brous knife looks as useful as a folding utility blade. It looks like a Mantis design to me.

the brous is not designed as an edc, its a defensive use knife.

Sell the ZT and get the Brous. Worst case you'll not like it, sell it and buy another ZT. As others have said the Brous is a limited run piece and will not last forever. Prices will likely go up once the lot is exhausted. I actually had the same debate and bought the Brous first. I will eventually get a 0560 but for now I have my 0350 to hold me over.
