I was under the impression that the stop pin, lock bar stabilizer, and pocket clip on the 0560 were stainless steel. Wel, I just saw a video and a guy said he heat anodized all 3 of those bronze. From what I understand you can't heat anodize ss. So are those pieces really TI?

On my 561, the stabilizer, stop pin, and clip all respond to magnets. Same with the frame under the G10 scale.

It's definitely titanium. I just took the pocket clip and stabilizer I the stove and they turned color. They're now flamed from blue to red to bronze.

The only titanium part on the 0560 is the back handle. The screws, pocket clip, front liner, stabilizer, etc are all made of stainless steel. Steel will color some under heat, but it's not advisable. When the blades get back from heat treat, they are generally a bronze color.

Be careful with the pocket clip. Heat coloring weakens steel and the more you keep it there, the weaker it gets. I wouldn't be surprised if the pocket clip keeps bending out because it's probably a whole lot softer now.

You can get the pocket clip and LBS button in titanium. I have a blue anodized button on my 550. Pretty sure the Hinderer clips will also fit the 560. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah I think I remember seeing a 0560 with an XM clip on it. I personally like the ZT clip more but wouldn't mind a Ti LBS just for fun.

Wasn't aware that SS would take a colored anodizing. I have 2 clips so I'm not too concerned and the stabilizer is getting replaced with a .45 casing.

I think they are SS. You can discolor stainless steel with the right temperature, all it takes is a butane torch and a few minutes. It's not necessarily traditional anodizing in this case, more of a discoloration. Ever seen a cooking pan or pot that has been burned on a hot plate? Those are stainless steel, and they can turn all kinds of colors with the right amount of heat.

I stand corrected. Well, after a while the blue/purple/red went away and the clip is a full bronze now. Not that I mind it. It's definitely not rubbing off though and it's still just as stiff as before.
