I don't see it becoming expensive. CTS 204P is too similar to keep the price from spiking due to the switch, I think.

I could see certain ZT collectors paying a premium to have the original m390 version but only for the sake of having it. But that collector isnt going to pay stupid prices for it. My guess is if you were to sell it and buy the newer version after all the shipping and fees you will simply break even. So If you like the knife I would use it.

Who knows, give it about 20 years to age. Right now, not at all. Remember, they are a regular production knife.

Nah. Few thousand made it out the door and the switch was to an equivalent steel. There aren't many completists out there and the m390 version is relatively available.

Check the hole and give it a good couple o' spine whacks. If it passes those tests you have a priceless ZT :)

The newer version with the CTS steel is very much the same as the M390 steel, and not much reason to seek the old version. I think the 0562 (G10) knife with the Elmax will be more coveted than the new version with S35VN steel

Knives are not a good investment in general. Customs can be, but most production blades only slightly increase in value over time.

I actually think a brand new in box never touch M390 562CF might be worth something down the road. I know most ZT owners use their knives so I bet there will not be many of them out there.
