I'm considering one of these 2 as my next purchase...looking for a well rounded edc with blade length around 3" and quality steel, which do the experts recommend and other options welcomed as well.

Thanks

I've had both of these, and I would say either are equally good choices for different reasons. The flipper and assisted nature of the 0566 will attract/put off some, much like the rotoblock will dissuade many from the SR2A.

It'd be a coin-toss to me.

I have the 0566. My experience with the Lionsteel was the SR-1. The Sr-1 had the issue of burying the locking bar. Burying it to the point you have to take something to pop it loose. Not sure if the SR-2a suffers from the same issue. There ends my expertise , both seem to be great knives.

I own a zt0350 with the assist and I enjoy it, think it works well atleast on my knife, just don't know much about the rotoblock, I understand it locks the blade into position that's about the extent of my knowledge...thanks for the reply

What are your impressions of your 0566?

If you don't mind assisted knives, and you enjoy flippers, the 0566 is the sure choice. However, you may find that having both an 0566 and an 0350 to be a little redundant. I would, however, just sell the 0350, buy the 0566, and see what you want to put the 0350's sale price towards.

That's pretty much how I do knives, anyway. I basically just rent them long-term. Buy at a low price, carry and use for a while, sell at a minor loss or breaking even to get something else.

Love my 0566

I own both and they're both ok, the ZT is more of a no nonsense work knife, a bit more heavy then the SR2, the SR2 is a weird combination between heavily built and almost a gentlemen's folder in the 'looks department'. The handle of the SR2 is ok if you don't have big hands, otherwise look for the SR1.
The ZT is Elmax, the SR2 is Sleipner, in my opinion both great working steels.

Thanks for all the replies, I went with the 0566 in dark earth and black washed blade...137$ shipped to la casa, not bad.
