As the thread title says, I would like to know if all the production of those knives (zt0600 and zt777M390) is basically done and dust? Or are they being released in batches and thus, still hope to get one?

Just asking since I have some orders that haven't come in yet. Any info appreciated thanks.

Kai doesnt release that info sadly. Keep your eyes open in the aftermarket if you have to have it. sorry brother

It kind of seemed like ZT had issues with the inital 0777 with the composite blade of damascus and vanax. In order to try to appease the demand, they made a run of the same knife with the M390 blades that you see now.
I'm pretty sure the 0777 in M390 is a run that is now done. I'm not sure the final numbers of how many were made, but they already have preorders for the next version of the 0777, which seems to be the full production that ZT will make and replenish.
Zero Tolerance 0770 is that knife. Based on Google searching, it looks like there may be 2 versions of the 0770. One with an aluminum handle that is machined like the 0777 and a carbon fiber version which looks to be a smooth, flat scale.

It doesn't feel like 1000 have been put out
If so I am disappointed

I'm thinking the first release of the m390 0777--to finish out the pre-orders for the original have been disseminated. However, I really suspect that there are more to come to finish out the full allotment.

Also, I don't believe the 0600 is finished either. I've had it on pre-order for maybe 6 months--right after the pre-orders were first available, and that retailer just stopped taking PRE-orders in the last week or two. They obviously are quite busy at ZT, so there could understandably be a fair amount of time between batch releases.

Sooooo, I'd caution against paying the panic prices on the secondary market just yet.

But I wish you well in finding them--they are both wickedly awesome knives.

Hey, I found an outfit that apparently has a few pre-orders available for the 0777--and they're supposedly going to be shipping within the week. See, there is still hope...

I am not sure if they are done as only KAI knows, but last I did hear were that they were still being made in small batches. Of course this could be false and like some of the other members said they have moved on to new and refined models that will be released eventually.

Haven't seen any more of the ZT 0600 in almost a couple of months now so perhaps the run is over.

However, I'm thinking there should more of the ZT 0777-M390 since I don't see high serial numbers yet.

Well that was fun. I got quite a few emails on the whereabouts of those 0777's. I asked everyone to kindly limit themselves to one, so that our other forum brothers might have a chance. It appears that everyone did do just that. GOOD ON ALL OF YOU. But they did go fast. I still believe more are coming out...and soon. So, again, I'd caution against going into panic mode and paying secondary market prices. Good luck everyone.

I'm still getting emails from one outfit where I have the 0600 on preorders, and they are saying, basically, all in good time. I really believe more are coming.

Could be knowing that ZT manufactures in batches and sometimes there's a noticeable lag in the batch intervals.

Yea, that does seem to be how ZT often operates with their limited editions. Sometimes those batches seem to get spread out to many retailers, and other batches seem to go to just a couple. Perhaps depending upon how large the batch was and if there were specific allotments for the various retailers... But there does seem to be a certain predictability to their unpredictability...

There are still quite a few outfits where you can sign up for an email notification for when both the 0777 and 0600 are back in stock...and those dealers supposedly would at least know if there were more coming or not--although ZT doesn't want them disseminating when that is supposed to happen.

So again, I believe more of both are on the way...and soon.

Many websites continue to list items and accept out of stock notifications even though some items are long come and gone.

Yea, I realize this, and you are absolutely right. But like I said: I'm still getting email notifications that my pre-orders are still coming--for both knives. And the outfit I mentioned earlier let slip that they were expecting a shipment 0777s within the next few days...though those pre-orders are now filled within just the last hour.

Obviously I don't have a crystal ball here or any inside info--AND EVEN LESS AM I AN OPTIMIST--but the evidence I think I see, and with quite a few years watching the ZT market--I would nevertheless bet that more are coming.

Also, the secondary market, from my perspective, hasn't evidenced 1000 knives of either model. Maybe half that...if I were to guess based on market saturation.

I believe you mentioned earlier not seeing higher serial #'s for the 0777. That would be another good hint. Do you know off hand where the serial # count might be for the 0600? I can't seem to remember where those are, at all. Mine is only 0087, I believe, so that won't be of any help.
