Ok, i have been messing with my 0700 blade for about a week now, and cannot get any success with the flipper to get the blade open.... i have stripped it and lubed it as well as sat in front of the tv flipping over and over. It only comes open half way from the back side, i can flick all the way with the thumb piece, but want better action from it. Any other suggestions?

btw, im using militec oil for lube. Which by the way made my 1725 open like butter, almost with gravity alone.

Is the detent weak? I had a 0561 that had weak detent and it would barely just open. I have heard the DLC makes the break-in take longer. The only other advice I have and I'm sure you probably already did it if you disassembled, would be to loosen the pivot a touch.

yea, i loosened to the point that the blade is a mm from making the blade just off center. maybe it is the DLC coating, it is the black blade, so maybe thats it

I just got a brown skyline that i have been trying to break in for a week. Not much better yet. I guess it just takes more time! my wife is getting annoyed, she said she will hear the clicking in her sleep!

hahah, mine says that about sharpening stones from my lansky. i guess ill keep working it. would like a smooth operation
