Recently got a ZT0770 CF which i like and i want for my everyday user. I don't like assisted openers so i removed the torsion bar. I like the action more now but it is off-center, not a big deal but if i can correct it i would like to. Anybody know any fixes for the centering? Much appreciated.

Can you obtain a set of bronze washers from ZT and try dropping an extra one in on the side where the blade is too close to the liner? I'm not familiar with the pivot on this model so I'm just throwing something against the wall to see if it might stick.

Not sure about the 0770 but I assume it's the same deal as the 0566. When I de-assisted my 0566, I took the tiny washer on the torsion bar side out and replaced it with a full sized washer from a kershaw I had laying around. It ultimately helps with wear, but gave more contact area on that side which helped smooth it out a bit more and allowed me to adjust the pivot so there was no play and it was centered.

Blade centering isn't an exact science. It requires a T8 and a little patience haha.

Seriously, best advice I can give is to loosen everything, than go back and tighten everything up in tiny increments. Also, don't be afraid to switch up the order in which you tighten.

I actually ended up doing that last night. I tightened everything up, then loosened in different orders, re-tightened etc. the centering is much better now, still off but much better. Its a nice little knife now. I can leave my much nicer ones at home now and be happy with what im carrying to work, but not worrying about messing it up too much. Thanks for the advice dudes!
