The design of the ZT0801BRZ sprint run is really appealing me.
Do you think ZT may change the design of the production 0801 for this new design and offer them in Blackwash, stonewash, etc.?
 
Isn't the 0801 discontinued? I think the BRZ was the last hurrah for that model...
 
The 2016 ZT catalog did indeed have 0801 & 0801BW in S35VN instead of Elmax. However, the 0801 production series was discontinued a few months ago and none were in S35VN.

0801BRZ was a limited run which came out about two months ago with bronze anodized titanium and M390 blade.

Here are all the ones in the 0801 series:

  5. 0801BW (Elmax)
  6. 0801BWMM (Elmax)

I am surprise they changed 1) still, 2) handles, 3) anodization all together for a sprint... I was hoping they may have discontinued the existing design and started the sprint with what will have been a new handle design...
 
I would just consider ourselves lucky to have gotten the 0801BRZ at all. What an awsome blade.

Thanks ZT and Rexford for bringing so many variations of this one. It will go down as a ZT classic and a must own for any knife collector.
 
I will have been into it shall they haven't make it with this anodization color.... :(
 
ZT 0801 & 0801BW are readily available at many ZT dealers for 40% off MSRP instead of the usual 20% off (MAP) since it has been discontinued.
 
For people who have not tried any variants of zt0801 I strongly suggest to pick up a base model at an unbelieveablly fair price.
 
The 0801 will surely be missed. That knife really set the bar high as far as production flippers go.
