For those of you who do not have a pre-order for the 0801blk, they are now available at BHQ.

Not sure how many they have, but they still have stock as of this posting. Have mine on order. Love these 0801s. Great knives. :)

I love the ZT 0801 series. According to BladeHQ the 0801BLK is a Limited Edition. Nobody knows how many will be produced.

I saw that earlier but dont have the budget. I think for now two types of 801 will do it for me.

I was about to drop the money on the carbon Fiber handled 801, but I bought a carbon fiber CRK last time lol. I might just get one of these.

Yea I saw it and bought it right away, money is always tight as I'm a college student but this is my favorite production folder and I feel compelled to purchase every variation of it.

Is this really a LE?

It is according to BHQ. If you go to the link in my post and read the text on BHQ you'll see that they say, "This limited edition model 0801BLK features a black finished blade and handle!" (bold is mine). ;)

I'm so close to buying one of these. Someone please post pictures when you get yours. :)

It's.... so..... BLACK

I don't know why I've waited so long before buying an 801, but I'm glad I got the BLK. This is one of the best full Ti Framelocks I've ever head, and when you consider the price, materials, and is made in the USA....

Just buy it.

That's what I'm saying! Damn thing looks beautiful!

Whenever I see posts from people contemplating buying an 0801, I just wanna slap 'em over the head and say, "Pull the trigger already!"

I think I'm going to buy one and make a couple franken-801's out of my standard version, give them different silver/black sides. Give one to my dad.

I picked up the standard production version about a month ago.

A really nice knife. I need to work on smoothing out the action, as it is a little stiff to open and requires a serious wrist flick to get it going right.

I am seriously considering one of these though.

Thats odd, is it new, was it preowned? Is the resistance coming from the pivot or the detent ball? Lift the lockbar off the blade and see if the blade can swing freely. It should. If not you can loosen the pivot screw a tad.

Mine has the smoothest pivot of any knife, I've ever owned, out of box. It surpasses my Spyderco Domino. The ball bearings eliminate all resistance from the pivot, and the detent ball has very little resistance sliding on the blade tang. Centering is perfect, lockup is perfect, zero blade play. It's the new standard of perfection in my collection. It makes me wonder why they bother with assisted openers. Their KVT bearings are just as fast.

My only reservation is the knife is a tad bigger than I'm used to. I really don't have a need for a thick beefy knife. If they would make a mini version of this knife at 75% of the size with all the same design specs.... that would be my grail knife.

I have exactly one "black" knife I carry...a Tilt. I don't care for all black knives but this one is an exception for sure.
