I generally like larger folders(808 loco, 560bw, have been edcing a contigo for a year)
I need help deciding on my next purchase
This knife will be used and not a shelf queen. I have read and watched a lot of videos and threads but not really between the two.
What's y'alls thoughts between them?
 
They are both great knives. The 804CF is discontinued so you can probably get a great deal on it right now. The 456 is my personal favorite from the entire ZT line up. It is smaller but packs a heavy and big feel punch. The 456BW was a sprint run so if you find one at a good price I would say jump on it. To my knowledge they are gone from all the dealers but there still could be some out there I don't know about. Good luck and let us know what you decide.
 
If you don't mind scratches on the all black of 0804cf, I would go for it. The price cannot be better.
 
Since you prefer large knives, then the 804 is what you want. I've got a 456, love it. The handle is a little short in the hand, but other than that, it's a great knife. The 804 never appealed to me.
 
You know, the 808 loco and the 456 and pretty close in size, 1/2" diff in closed length and a 1/4c shorter blade but the 808 if it was in a super premium steel like 20cv, 204p, or m390, it would have been my grail knife, ergos were PERFECT on that knife but I do not like s30v at all.

The only reservations I have about the 804 are the pocket clip function and screw in titanium construction
Also, from what I can see, most all dealers say they have the 456bw in stock but like the 452m390blu, they said the same thing and were all out but one place
 
The screw in titanium complaint is for asthetics or durability? I believe that started with the 030X series & I've never seen any issues.

Highly recommend the 0804cf especially since they just removed map pricing on them. The 456bw will be harder to find but I've seen a few on ig but they are not cheap. The 456bw is heavy in comparison to the 0804cf but iirc the 804 is longer?
 
Good call on the 456bw. I have both 456 models and they are absolutely beefy folders: extremely heavy duty and capable, they feel great in hand, smooth and solid action, premium steel(s), unique but appealing design, versatile blade shape/grind.

Very pleased with mine overall.
 
ZT should really look at their naming conventions. So much "l337 speak" hurts my eyes.

Instead of starting a new thread I thought I would just post this here

Has anyone had any experience with
ti connector hardware.
I'm looking at the set for the 456 and was wondering what the quality was like and if they anoed in different colors? More specifically green

Bump/Necro,. How did you go with the hardware swap? Love to see some pics.

I've been carrying my 0456bw on holidays and it has some incredible details that I previously missed. I want to change the clip as the factory one really detracts from the overall fit and finish of the knife.
