I am gradually working my way to a purchase. I eliminated the Manix 2 even though I like it, wanted to get higher quality, if that is a good way to express it, and like these two. Weight is quite different but I do like the tanto blade. Some thoughts to help will be appreciated. Incidentally, this will be the last knife I buy more than likely. I have the Delica 4 and a SanRenMu 710 for carrying and a large Kershaw in the car.

What makes you think the Manix 2 is low quality or not high quality? Just because it's inexpensive, does not mean it's lower quality.

May we know how you'll use either of these knives? Two quite distinctively different knives. If buying both was an option... I'd say get both and get rid of the one you dislike.

However... have you considered the Benchmade 950 Rift instead? You get the reverse tanto at a more substantial 'heft'.

I do not think it low quality, just worded my post poorly. It is my favorite of the three actually.

I've had both.. still have the 940 as my light duty blade, the 350 was great but the handle just didn't fit my hand. If you need a tough folder, the 350 is great bang for buck. If you want a knife for general cutting tasks (ie. around an office) the 940 is a very solid knife (very light and slim, but with a good size blade). That said, I carry my Manix 2 more than the 940 (like the FFG and ergos more, feels tougher too). It really depends on your uses for the knife, if it needs to be an EDC and your hunting/hiking/working blade, the 350 is better. I consider my 940 my light duty office blade, shouldn't scare people, but I wouldn't use it for some of the things I use my Manix for...

As for my use, it will be strictly walking in woods and cutting walking sticks, whittling, stuff like that. Nothing heavy duty. I admire the aesthetics very much and will spend a lot of time handling and showing to friends. The possibility of buying both is pretty much out due to marital discord if done:-))

I'd go with the 940 or manix2 then... The Manix 2 to me is one of the best bang for buck knives out there... the 940 is great too, by all means, but if I were to be taking one in the woods it'd be the Manix. (the assisted opening in the 350 is something I am not a huge fan of and the recurve makes it less appealing to me when it comes to whittling...)

I have felt an affinity for the Manix 2 since day one, and it is a bit cheaper than the other two. Thanks to all and I will do a deal with Spyderco or Knifeworks. Same price more or less:-))

Uhm? The knife from Spyderco's website costs $129.95, while Knifeworks' price is $77.95. How are they the same?
