Ive handled the ZT560 that my buddy got and I think its a nice blade just has some small things that bother me in the folder like the pocket clip i despise low ride pocket clips makes my knife a pain to get out.

Strider SMF has been of interest to me since the new lock face came out but I have owned striders in the past and moved them all down the line for two reasons bladeplay and the lack of cutting edge that they

Unfortunately the hard use folder bug has hit me again and im looking to spice up my EDC with a new large folder that can share some pocket time with my military. I use my blades that I edc fairly hard my military has not had an easy life and it shows haha.

I am looking mostly at getting into a SMF with new lockface to fix the fit and finish issues and also considering the ZT561 but would have to get a different pocket clip for it. Any suggestions out there from the community on these two knives or other large titanium framelock folders?

I really like flat ground blades between 4-4.5inches long with tip up carry but this is not a deal breaker I can always have it tapped for tip up like I did the military

How much do you want to spend?

The 561 is a $260 or less knife. The SMF is a $550 +/- knife.

The clip on the 560/61 is a great clip. Even tho its a low rider it's Very easy to get out of the pocket.

IMO Striders are very over priced for what you get. I'd rather have a ZT 300-303 for a Lot less. Yes, I had an SMF cc and traded it.

The cutting edge on the 561 is about 3.75. The CE on the SMF is only 3.25 with the big choil.

There are lots of other knives out there in the price range of the 561, but for what you get with a 561 the price is Hard to beat.

You might take a look at the Spyderco Tuff as well, Big thick CPM-3V blade, big pivot, no low rider clip, Ti Frame lock, it does have a choil like the strider though.

Have you considered a ZT0200 or a combative arms M1?

I dont like recurve blades

Not enough cutting edge for the size of the knife imo, also I prefer to keep my purchases made in the USA

Lot of good points Clock, thanks for the response I keep looking at the 561 and really like the idea of it just hate the clip haha. As I said in the first post my buddy has the 560 so i got to monkey around with it a little bit and that clip is rather annoying. So far it seems the XM18 clip will fit that knife so I may just have to get one of those and replace the clip on the ZT

All are great options...I love my ZTs and Spydies, I have my first SNG (Dual Gunner) on the way.
I'd also add the Graymans to the list. The Hogues are a nice option as well for reasonable cash outlay.

Looked at the greyman but its got that recurve blade i really hate recurves lol

For a deep carry clip on the 0560, it's not 100% buried in your pocket. There's a tad sticking out. I haven't had any problems getting it in and out. There's maybe half a centimeter sticking out. That might be 100% to most tho, haha.

used to carrying the military and for me thats about the right amount of blade handle sticking out. When I sent it to STR to get it tapped for tip up screws and a custom clip i specifically asked him to place it so that much handle stuck out still :P

Benchmade Adamas and Spyderco Manix 2 XL are alternatives, maybe the Benchmade Barrage. If you want an even longer blade then there is the larger Benchmade Rukus (Ruckus?). Of course if you are willing to have a Military modified then you could have the ZT 560 modified to sit higher in your pocket.
