I purchased my 562cf on Friday and man I love this knife, great ergos, fit and finish is excellent. I was going to buy a benchmade 761 until my dealer pulled out the 562cf and it was game over for me. Imo the size is perfect and I love the new clip.

I got home to test the factory edge on some cardboard, I cut cardboard for about 20-30 minutes and checked sharpness and the edge was just as good as when I started. I'm not new to m390 but am to zt m390 but I am impressed.

After cutting cardboard and anything else I could find and not really getting any dulling of the edge, I decided to give her a mirror polish, so I started my process and I was surprised again, I have sharpened m390 rated at 60rc I believe and zt seemed to be both harder to sharpen and hold its edge longer. Overall great knife and great steel, we'll worth what I paid for it. Questions though is this a production knife(carbon fiber with m390) and does anyone know what the rc is on zts m390?

Also to all you folks who want the sharpest knife possible, this knife deserves a look, I took it through the grits and finished it off first at 20 degrees at 12,000 grit and the edge was great, but I went backward and hit it with my lapped UF spyderco hone and this knife has one of the craziest edges I have ever used.

I love the 0562cf, it's an amazing knife! One thing I noticed was there is a cutout in the titanium on the CF side, almost as if ZT was gonna give more clearance to access the lockbar. I believe this knife would be much easier to use with gloves if they machined the CF flush with the Ti liner.

Is anyone elses 0562 like this? I have serial #986

The 0562CF is not a limited edition. It is serialized but generally production, just hard to get. No idea about the HRC rating. My guess is around 60.

here is what I had done to mine :)

It's noticed the exact same thing (with the cut out) on my elmax G10 version.

If I remember correctly the cut out is the same on the Hinderer XMs as well. Think Rick said it was to lessen the accidental disengagement of the lock.

if you are talking about how the liner isnt flush with the scale I see this done all the time. I think it has to do with how narrow the space is to get your thumb in to disengage the lock. By cutting back the liner you improve the width in which to get the fleshy part of your thumb in there but the scale still retains the look unhindered (PUN!!!!)

I think you are absolutely right. If the liner was there the gap between liner and lockbar (with an open blade would be about half the width of the gap between the liners on the pommel end of the handle. There wouldnt be much room for your thumb to sink between the bar and liner to grip the lockbar. With the liner removed in that area you can sink your thumb deeper in the gap and get ahold of the lockbar. My SG Bad Monkey has this same cutout

My 0561s are the same. It's definitely a design feature.

Allen, I'm glad you're digging the new ZT.

That's standard on the xm18 forget the reason behind it though . Also when I can post pics from my cell I'll post my zt 3rd edge lol took her down to 15dps bevels polished to 10k grit waters tone with a microbevel at about 18 degrees using the dmt xxf and this thing is a beast.

Yes, this is why I imagined it was there too. IMO, it would be better with the extra space given by cutting the scale flush with the liner, but whatever. My sebenza has twice the clearance to disengage the lockbar, which I find nothing wrong with, it just makes the knife easier to use with gloves.

That's my only complaint about the 0562 besides no lanyard hole.
Can't get everything I want, maybe I'll mod the scale sooner or later.

One quick note to add is that if i remember correctly, the liner under the scale is steel, not titanium like the xm's.

No problem! I'm glad I checked, because I assumed they were titanium and I was about to anodize them soon:D:rolleyes:
