Well, I had typed up a long story for this thread, but I lost it on a database error, so I'll try something shorter... :) Trust me, you're better off than to have to read such dribble anyway! ;) As most of you probably already know, I was the unfortunate lottery winner that had lost my Tony Bose knife to a very unscrupulous individual at the Bose table on Friday at the BLADE Show who took an opportunity to poach it right out from under me before I had reached the table to pay for my prize. (If you don't know about this, please check out the sticky thread on the main page of this sub-forum)

Flash forward to this week, I received this one Thursday afternoon, and after opening it up with Mr. Bose on the phone on Friday...and being literally stunned into silence as my eyes took in such a wonder, I did try to give it some credit with photos. I failed, but they do show this fine masterpiece of a knife, so I'll post them anyway. Also, Mr. Bose & Mr. Hampton were both so very kind to take a series of WIP images that were sent to me along the timeline of this very short wait for my enjoyment, and I figured that y'all might like to see them too. I'll place them in Post #2.

So, with many, many humble thanks to Mr. Bose for taking the time out of his busy schedule to recreate a masterpiece to replace my poached lottery ZS, and also with much thanks to Mr. Don Hanson for offering to send more damascus if needed (it wasn't as it turns out but still I do appreciate it very much!), and also with many thanks to many members of this fine forum for keeping an eye out for that missing ZS, I now present the masterpiece that which is the new Hanson Damascus & pre-ban ivory Zulu Spear. :)

I was playing around with the color levels on this pic for fun, but due to the angle, it does show a bit more on how slender this knife is. :)

I hope that you enjoy the pix! :)

That's a real beauty Jaxx!
Nice to see that you got what's yours in the end!

Man, Alex, that is just too freaking cool. And you got it so quick. I have to say that Tony and Reese are two of the most stand up guys I have met.

Now just don't go comparing my rudimentary tool to that masterpiece.

Congrats again brother!!

I do believe the powered equipment makes it a mid-tech.

I keed I keed!

Wow, number 1 stunner right there! I'm glad to hear that they took care of you. Class act all the way.

Congrats.

Awesome, i'm glad that you were able to get a knife out of this bad situation with such a fast turn around. B-E-A-U-tiful knife.

Nice to see that you were able to get one to truly call your own. Big kudos to Tony for undertaking the work in such a short time to make it happen.

Well, Jared, while I don't have the balls to use this Bose, and me comparing yours to his might be very similar to a chimp who can't read comparing two great literary works...but yours is pretty darn far from "rudimentary", and is still riding in my pocket! ...And, it makes for one helluva great edged tool! :)

Thank you! :)

That's one gorgeous Zulu! Well done Mr. Bose.

Wow, just Wow! It's a beauty!

Thanks for sharing the WIP photos, the glimpses of the Master at work are priceless

Wonderful WIP pics! Nice to have that record of the build, Jaxx - makes the knife all the sweeter!

Tony, a tip of the propeller beanie to you for standing full up for your customer! My respect and admiration for you!!

You're welcome! Here's where I should note that both Mr. Bose and Mr. Kerry Hampton took those. Not exactly sure who took what, but I'm very grateful for the look behind the scenes of a masterpiece in the making! :)

That knife is beautiful! Seeing the progression through the process is icing on the cake. thanks for sharing!
