Hi Danelle:

Couple of questions regarding the lightweight side of the Spyderco family.

Are the new Merlins shipping yet?

Any word on the pink run of Delicas?

And, for the masses, Matriarch status por favor?

The only one I can answer is the Matriarch question..last word I had was that they will ship in late fall. Available in S Africa and at the BF Store only. I too, am waiting for the run of pink Delicas...
I'll see what I can find out...

I'll give your questions a shot here:
1) Merlins - currently shipping, check with your local dealer
2) Pink Delicas & Crickets - should be ready by the end of June or so
3) Matriarch - fall (exclusive to S. Africa & Bladeforums.com)

Pink delicas! Awesome. My wife has been carrying the same one I gave her about 5 or more years ago. Time for an update!

All right! The Matriarch at the BF store. I must have been snoozing when that was anounced. Knife number 12976 to lust after.

I asked about this knife in a thread a month ago after I saw the picture in the June Blade magazine. The blade is plain. In some other emails, I think SOMEONE said they MAY be available sometime around fall, but couldn't say exactly when.

I think Danelle also said that she'd reserve one for my wife when they were available.

The pink Delica & Crickets will be available in fully serrated versions only. I said they will be available in late June, but since then I have heard sometime in July. Not too big of a delay.

Raf, any chance on a plain blade? I'm not sure how the SO will feel about the serrated blade. Maybe the next run?

Once I misplaced my plain edged Delica, and all of my backups had serrations. A few minutes with a coarse pocket hone turned a new serrated Delica into a plain edged one.

I won’t let the fact that there are no straight edges available stop me from obtaining a coveted pink Delica. I no longer have any reservations about modifying these knives, and I look so good in pink!
