Traveling with a knife question?

I'm from CT and laws are quite restrictive when it comes to carrying knives. I've carried OTFs and larger fixed blades when I go fishing. Out of the 15+ years I've been doing this, I had ONE GUY ask to see my knife. It was a DEEP officer while I was trout fishing, I was carrying a little EOS dagger The Aflac Duck The Aflac Duck sold me lol. It's very shiny and must've caught the guy's eye. He's like "oh that's a cool knife can I see it?" Kind of deal.

I’m about to start doing a bunch of traveling (in my vehicle)
Just trying to figure out what I can load into the truck, in my bags, for carrying daily while I’m on the road?
So many different knife laws in so many places... it's hard to know.

Generally swiss army knives are both legal and socially acceptable. They are non-locking and short enough to not break the law in most areas.

Whatever you bring, if you get pulled over, keep both hands on the steering wheel, no sudden movements, and make sure that you don't have your knife sitting within reach.

Like my grandad said about cutting shotgun shells during the Great Depression in case a deer ran out....its only poaching if you get caught. Of course that was before they could seize your truck for hunting off season or without a license......

In the 30+ years I've lived in CO, and the 30 years in Texas before that, I have never been asked to show my knife or gun, or to empty my pockets (not even during traffic stops, or encounters with park rangers).
