I looked for one main watch,a reliable allrounder for both, formal AND causal cloth. The citizen should be more shock- and magnetfieldresistant due to its quartzmovement,with less moving parts. Its also more waterproof.The quartz makes it more accurate. The shiney case and minimal dial let it be dressed up and down,based on the strap i choose.
A mechanical watch like the seiko, on the other side, is for my special events,for dressy cloth or when i want to enjoy my vintage gear with a rugged look and the feel of oldtimes mechanical precision. The Sikos mattblasted case finish let i looks more causal than dressy or elegant.
