“Black Mamba” with Ancient Kauri

Ancient Kauri is How Old?

Here is another one of my knives with Ancient Kauri on it. Did you know that despite its amazing appearance and chatoyance, Ancient Kauri is the world’s oldest workable wood…Radio carbon dating places the age of the Ancient Kauri trees that are being excavated from the northland of New Zealand at 50,000 years old. This is the maximum limit of radio carbon dating; it is probable that this wood is even older. So here you have it – the possibility to own a piece of history.

Note: I've posted this piece in a few locations online so the first "I'll take it” gets it based on timestamp. A reply here precedes PM’s and emails.

I really like that Ancient Kauri, CJ. Sure wish I didn't have to go through a move this month. I'd snatch this up in a heartbeat. I really like working knives which look great and are easy to care for and this fits the bill.
