“Forum” button crashing Internet Explorer on 2 computers.

I know those things work, I just find scrolling through the "Quick Navigation" slow and annoying. The 'Forum Catagories" is faster, but requires multiple page loads to hit all the places I normally read. I have tried other browsers in the past, and mostly find them even more irritating than I.E.8. I guess I need a new hobby for the new year.

How's this for a 'workaround'? There's always another option... At the bottom of each page, just above the Quick Reply text box on the right side is a drop down menu marked Quick Navigation. It lists all the forums as links and you can scroll through the list with no hang ups using IE8.

It's a little better now, it only took 50 seconds for the page to load instead of three minutes. Still, for a page with no big images, that seems a bit excessive on a 5Mb/sec DSL connection.

50 seconds at 5Mb/sec does seem awful slow. I'm using a wireless modem at ~600 Kb/sec (or less, most of the time; yes, that's Kilobits/sec), with Firefox 9.0.1 on Win7 64-bit. Clicking the 'Forum' tab loads this page ( http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forum.php) in maybe 3-5 seconds.
