Hi folks,
As I *always* do after photographing at a show, I love to post the knives that I had the privilege of shooting. You won't be disappointed.
We arrived on thursday afternoon via minvan from CT to setup in a special boardroom a small distance from the show hall. This space gives us the necessary room that I need to display my backgrounds and have room for my indoor studio. Right outside the room, for those who were hanging around the area, I brought in my 19" screen and a laptop which had a rolling slideshow of 150 knife images, including all of last year's Blade. Better than a print portfolio, for sure.
My wife Susan, and Leta Blanton were on my team to help fill orders, and run knives back and forth from the Show Hall. I can't impress upon you how invaluable these two were and how pleasant they made the whole weekend.
I was required to stay focused on shooting the knives, and choosing appropriate backgrounds. This takes a LOT of time on my end. Because of what I have learned in the past, I decided that I would not even try to edit or produce prints at the show. I am singular in my abilities to shoot and edit, and this process, for me, takes me far longer than I could produce under pressure at the show. My hat is off to ANY photographer that can pull this off successfully.
We worked from Thursday eve through Sunday afternoon shooting.
And so now I have been working steadily for the past week, editing getting approvals, and printing the mailers to send out to my clients. I finished mailing EVERY photograph to all this afternoon, and finally can allow myself the time to caption and post each amazing image. (Submission photos are in the works.)
We had a VERY successful show--again. I barely had time until sunday to peek my head into the show hall.
I did, however manage to spend a moment with a TON of forum members and makers who wandered in to say Hi. I only wish I could have spent even more time chatting, but my work remained vigilant (if not Susan!
).
I know you will enjoy the fine work of the makers. I do my best to make their knives look their best.
I want to thank all my clients right here for the opportunity to provide you with photographs you will be proud of.
I gave captions to each and every photo through Fototime. It should take you a while to go through them. Please do.
Enjoy our work.
