Hi folks,
Michael Fong and his wife Junko are from Southern CA, and each of them have made quality knives on a limited basis for years. On this piece, they collaborated and it is marked on the inside well: M J Fong - TKCL 2002 3/15. (This knife was one of 15 made for a now-defunct collector's club called the TKCL.)
The pearl is quality gold-lip, and it shows no blemishes whatsoever. I do not remember the name of the damascus maker, but it is a stiking pattern carried into the bolsters.
Blade: 2 1/4" (58mm) OAL 5 1/2" (138mm).
There is a texture to the pattern and the VERY elegant rounding of the bolster and pearl that makes this especially nice handling in your hand or in the pocket.
The thumbstud is just tall enough, that for a small knife there is no problem capturing it. Opening and closing action are superb, with a firm lockup and a correct closing detent.
Knife is mint: as rec'd from the maker and has never been used, sharpened or carried.
Price: Original asking: $450 includes shipping anywhere in the US. Paypal OK, with no fees added. (International OK, too w/extra shipping.) NO trades, as I am funding other purchases. Buyer gets two day inspection period.
Many thanks for your consideration. First definitive claim gets it.
