good question. who else is stamping still on high end or even low end steels in current production? true stamp i mean?
Isn't Case's mark a stamp on both their regular production and Tony Bose line? If it's an etch, it doesn't go away with use.

Thanks for the feedback guys.. We don't see hard stamping of exotics coming back, but from your observations, it looks like we need to go darker on the etch. We will get this looked at. 420Hc will always be hard stamped except for the occasional time when we miss a stamp and have to laser it..

That's great news, I've been planning to buy my dad a 110 as he's been without one since all his knives " walked away " from his childhood bedroom when he left for the ARMY in '78.Thanks for the feedback guys.. Knowing one would have ebony scales plus still be stamped as it should be is a good thing.
My God! That is a heck of a long time to go without a 110! Please get him one ASAP! And thank him for his service from me and my family. Ed
... The real issue is durability. I want a knife that maintains it's identification markings with normal use over many years. I no longer care if that's a stamp, etch or laser engraving.
