Hello everyone, here is the latest project I have going on. The concept for this one is an ultralightweight hollow handle EDC knife (for those interested in HH knives, obviously). It is called the PACKLite, and the first two batches sold out very quickly, so I decided to pursue a "mid-tech" version.

These have a 3" long blade of 3/32" thick CPM154 stainless steel @ 59-60, and flat ground to slice. The blade will feature OG green GunKote finish, and the guard, handle and buttcap will have matching OD anodizing. Black cord wrap will set it all off. There will be a compass in the buttcap and an OD kydex sheath. The knife itself weighs in at just 3.2 oz! (For all of the prototypes, so far. There will be some slight variation with the finished models.)

Here are a few pics, and I am happy to hear any feedback. The pictures are just quick phone pics of the advanced prototypes, but I will get better pics later. Thank you!

Nice size/ergos! Well done. Mid tech you say? Who's going to be doing those for you? Keep us in the loop on those!

And just in case people wonder, "Can these little hollow handle knives actually be used?!?," the answer is YES!

All of my knives are designed to actually go into the field and be used in the same manner as any conventional knife. I don't really recommend batonning, not because of the hollow handle, but because in general it is a great way to find the limits of the structural integrity of your knife if you get a little carried away.

That being said, here's a short clip of one of the advanced prototypes in the field. Put 'em to work!

😢😢what did that poor little knife do to you Sam?
It's not something I like to do with a knife but I guess in an emergency it's good to know you could.
Also what are you doing out of the shop, back to work😜.
Thanks for sharing.

Lol, agreed! Good to just show everybody they don't snap off at the hilt the minute hard work is encountered. And yes, back to the shop!🤣🤣🤙🤙

Personally, I would not want my hunting knife sporting a cord wrapped handle. It would be a host for blood and guts; gunk in short. Is the handle below the cord knurled by any chance?

Nice presentation in the video, and a good looking fixed blade 🍻

Thank you! I agree with you about the cord wrap. It is washable, but it will still absorb some matter, for sure. A number of hunters have purchased and used my cord wrapped knives, so I always highlight that application. Some have removed the cord wrap and replaced it with tape, or left it bare.

Most of my handle tubes are knurled, but that is not in the plans for this one at the moment. Thank you for the feedback!😎😎👍👍
