I did a slightly different grind on this knife than normal. It is a near full height sabre grind to .030 and was then convexed to an edge of .015 and then sharpened to a razor's edge. My thoughts are that this edge geometry will give you good edge stability while not leaving you with the shoulder of a flat grind to a convex edge.

Chris has made some of the sharpest knives I've ever touched and they are as good as they get....My next will be a chopper....

Agreed, he makes a fine knife and a scary sharp edge.. I lucked out and got his first chopper he ever made in 3V yesterday.

I will be ordering a custom just like this one shortly...in 3V and a blue contrasting liner...Big Chris Knives...because one is just never enough...:thumbup:

I have a massive chopper (18.5 inches and .300 thick 3V), two knives and a machete in the works from Chris. Absolute best value out there, no doubt in my mind. The only thing better than his knives is his customer service. Great knives, great prices, great guy.

He just finished 2 more 3V Woodsmans for me, in addition to the one I already bought. After your knives are finished I plan on ordering one similar to the one in this post except in 3V and with a blue liner to compliment some other custom/handmade knives I own. For those who don't know...Big Chris knives are the best bang for the buck going...I learned that firsthand.
