01 Carbon Tool Steel?

Well, if you're going to oil it before you store it, you'll probably be fine. Heck, even leather conditioner would probably do you okay.

Personally, of the ones that you listed, I would take the CCFT IF it was the one without saw teeth because I REALLY like the border patrol handle. I had a Model 15 in O1 with the border patrol handle back in the day and it was my all time favorite Randall.
What kind of oil do yall use on it? I have heard of people using CLP...It kind of sucks that i cant store it in its sheath. Here are my options:
# 1-7” standard leather handle, 01 carbon tool steel, $365.00. Model A sheath standard. Model C military sheath $ 15.00.

# 14-7 ½" black or green micarta 4 finger grip handle, tool steel, $385.00. Model C sheath included.

# 15-5 ½" black or green micarta 4 finger grip handle, tool steel, $375.00 with Model C sheath included.

# 16-7”SP#1 black or green micarta 4 finger grip handle, stainless steel blade, $405.00. Model A sheath standard. Model C military sheath $15.00.

CCFT Combat Companion Full-Tang (new model) stainless steel blade, black or green micarta handle, border patrol handle shape, $425.00 with Model C sheath included.

# 28-4-1/2" Woodsman, stainless steel blade, drop point hunter, full tang handle construction, black or green micarta border patrol handle, model B sheath $ 405.00.

I like the Model 1 in stainless myself. Classic lines & less maintenance issues. But any Randall I'd own wouldn't be a user. Will yours be? Blackjack makes Randall clones for stylish, yet guilt-free flogging.

I've read where people used wax on their carbon steel with good results. I have some renaissance wax that I use. I've also heard the benefits of lanolin and I've read that you can use Lee liquid Alox bullet lube as a substitute.
