I have few feet of 01 tool steel precision ground 1/8 X 1.inch
Not sure watt to do whit it
I am in to making folders more than fixed blades,
I don't have a forge yet,

Need to know pros and cont of using 01 for folders
Or maybe I sure try to sell this and buy ats34 or s30v

Nothing wrong with using O1 for folders. Most of my slip joints have been made with O1. I think it is good since it is readily available in precision ground sizes. I have had less problems with it rusting than I have have with plain carbon steels like 1055 and 1075.

I made at least a couple hundred folders with 01 blades and springs back in the 90s'.
I'll take 01 over the other steels you mentioned.

I've used O1 for several folders and like it very much!

I too have found it more
resistant to rusting than the 1095 folder blades I've
made.
