0121 anybody?

Hey everybody,

I was wondering if anybody has an opinion on the zt0121. Looks pretty awesome to me, and I think it will really round out my kit for Afghanistan. I can't find many opinions. Good or bad, kit will help me out.
 
I don't have the 0121 but if I needed another fixed blade, I would certainly give it a shot. I like the steel used, the size of the knife as well as the blade profile. The recurve blade, however, could pose a problem for you in the sandbox because recurves are tricky to sharpen. If that's not an issue for you, I think the 0121 is worthy of consideration. Remember though there are many solid fixed blades of similar size and for similar money that don't feature recurve blades. Good luck to you in Afghanistan and thank you for your service.
 
I don't know anything about that knife. But if it is ZT, it must be a good one. But I really just jumped in to say, thank you for your service.

It is a nice knife, the blade is pretty thick and built with good steel. G10 handle with nice grab to it. I like the knife but havent had much of a chance to use it. I wish the sheath was a bit more advanced, it holds the knife nice and snug but has a strap with a snap and limits the carrying options, it has one position to carry. I drilled some holes to change that but it is difficult to access the snap. But that wouldnt be a problem if mounted on a pack.

Thanks for the support guys, well the knife would be serving in the place of my old bm nimravus. I might just keep it on my kit, as it is proven. But I have had amazing success with zt 0301's. I'm very torn.
 
One thing to note on the 0121 is that the handle feels small. It's definitely smaller in hand than a 0300 series folder. I felt that the handle was too small for a hard use knife, and I don't have large hands.
 
I'll tell you 1 thing the handle is small. I wear a size large mechanics gloves and it still feels a lil small to me. The handle length is barley the width of my palm. it is very comfortable to hold and is well balanced. Sheath is right hand only and molle attachment carry. it's a great strong little knife but if you want somethingcheaper try an esee 3. same length blade but a lot thinner
 
Ive got an 0100 and she's a beast of a knife, the 0121 looks cool, but kinda uncomfortable IMHO. But that 0100 is a winner:thumbup:
 
I bought my 0121 when they first came out.
It is a fine knife however the handle is a little
on the short side for me.
 
I sold mine because of the short handles. And my hands are small.
 
That's awesome feedback guys, I think ill stick with what.I got. Maybe ill get one.when I get back and can play.with it.
 
I'd like to see more ZT fixed blades in the future. Maybe a Landi or Entrek collaboration.

Anyhow, the 0121 should still be a good knife. I have a 0301 folder, but the ergos on both knives look close enough.
 
I really like the look of the 100, but if there is one thing I've learned over the years in this man's army, is that ounces = pounds, pounds = pain. And that sucker is a lot of pounds to hump around Afghanistan.
