I think so. Absolutely no bladeplay or lock flex, and it doesnt stick at all. Never mind the fact that it hasnt moved at all since the day I got it and have since flipped it thousands of times. This is framelock perfection right here.

Heck Ya, love my 0301. Used the heck out of it and still beautiful. Such a great design

Great knife, but there's a whole lot of competition in that category. Not to mock, but I'm somewhat reminded of an old exchange between an interviewer and John Lennon: "Do you think Ringo Starr is the best drummer in the world." "I don't even think he's the best drummer in The Beatles."

Best Framelock all things considered yes! Its a monster of a knife for the $$$, has the best company backing it and is just looks like it wants to cut through a car hood or a coffee can.

I've owned Striders, Chris Reeves , other ZTs and I think Like I said all things Considered its the best back for the Buck. Striders are overbuilt and pricey, CRK are OCD Built and plain and Other ZTs are amazing like my personal Favorite the 0550s..But having Assisted opening, Ti Framelock, Huge Blade and plently of cutting power the ZT0300s are out of this world...

I own a number of framelocks now and in the past - and I keep coming back to my 30X. I just picked up a 300DW and love it more than all. I fear the day they retire this model. I will need at least 10 in the box to be comortable about that.

Owned 3 striders (2 smfs and an sj75) 4 crk sebenzas, a benchmade lfti, a boker pipsqueak, a boker epicenter, and a kershaw tilt. Ive handled an 0550, two 0560s, two other 030xs, a couple of protech tr3s (couple of standard production, a prototype and a custom damascus one), a bradley alias 2, several benchmade subrosas, a boker ceramic anti mc folder, a couple of dpx hest 2.0s, about 10 other sebenzas (2 large annuals), a dozier custom, a boker subcom titan, and probably more that I'm forgetting. The 030X from what ive seen disengages the smoothest and has the tightest lock up. Someones going to give me shit for saying this, but yes, if I really try, Ive been able to feel the lock FLEX (no bladeplay whatsoever) on just about any sebenza I've owned. and some have had sticky locks (not like anything a production knife would have, but there was some friction when I disengaged the lock). Just about all the other ones ive either been able to feel a little up and down play, or it had a sticky lock. The 030x has neiter.

I agree. Id say retireing this model would be a huge mistake. A gen 2 with kvt and maybe a newer steel (not that anythings wrong with s30v)? I could get used to that!

I'm not a huge fan of the K.O. ZT's. I had a 0200 and it was just too big and heavy for my uses. That being said, I have always wanted a 030X. I would NEVER carry it but I like the feel.

Whats that?

It is definately a big blade. However it is a good bit thinner than the 0200. Still a big chunk of steel but it carries nicer imo

I'd likely trade a kidney (I can survive just fine with one) for a 302 or an uncoated blade with the coyote handle. Anyone need a kidney- A positive blood type? Or perhaps half of an abused liver?

Maybe I spoke too soon. Sounds like you have quite a bit more experience with frame locks than I.

The thickness between the 030x and the 0200 is quite noticeable. I can carry my 0301 all day in my back pocket but the 0200 is just a tad bit too thick and becomes a little intrusive.

That's something I've noticed whilst EDCing the 200 for the past 2 months. it's DEFINITELY noticeable, and not even by me, i've hand people ask what the hell kind of machete I keep in my pocket..... And that's where the jokes start.
