030X series. Best Framelock on the market?

Best Framelock all things considered yes! Its a monster of a knife for the $$$, has the best company backing it and is just looks like it wants to cut through a car hood or a coffee can.

Yes, yes, and yes. Too bad I lost it in Montana a year ago hunting.

That is right. It is the best assisted framelock. With how fast they fire it amazing for any framelock to hold their lockup away from 100%.

Agent Gibbs wouldn't always use a 0302 if it weren't totally awesome, would he? :p

But really, I love my 0303. It's what I'd take on a road trip and it's a knife I'd bet my life on. The other knife that cones close is the 0550 for me.

I've come to prefer my 550 over any of my other framelock ZTs. Never really warmed up to the 350s and 30Xs and let go of them.

Is there really a difference in the framelock itself between the 030x and the 055x/056x ?

The titanium frame lock side of it, not so much. Overall, yes. I just prefer a knife that large to be a manual, and for the handles to be comfortable. The thing about the handles on 3xx ZTs, is that I found them to be too wide in the palm. With other production titanium framelocks considered, the Ti Military is my favorite by a big margin.

I really like my ZT301's. It WOULD be awesome to see a next generation model, maybe with a composite blade & some color to the scales. Maybe a Navy blue?

From what I've seen yes. On the hinderer designs, I can force a small ammount of flex out of, as I can with most framelocks- the 030X or at least every one I've handled is absolutely 100% rock solid. Feels like a fixed blade.

I'm thinking a stonewashed blade with 14c28n on the spine and maybe like cts-xhp on the edge. That, and maybe try to convert it to a kvt flipper and make scale color choices like the 0550? Textured cf anyone?
