How did you finally solve the issue since I don't see the solution in this thread?

Personally, I don't like creating new threads on the exact same subject matter.

Sent it to ZT, they fixed it. I shouldn't have started a thread about it in the first place.

The sharpie treatment with several hundred open/close cycles worked! No stickiness at all now. Once you get a hang of it with smooth opening (down to up angle) it's a great knife at the right EDC size.
