0560 Ball Bearing life expectancy

Does not swing freely. Look at the detent when the blade is open, you will see that it has worn in and created a flat spot on the ball.

The ball detent (like the bearings) will far outlast the blade and lock on the knife, so again it's a moot point. :)

Surprisingly, that flat spot on the detent ball has nothing to do with the function of the detent ball. The "sides" of the ball do, and they don't wear.

I wasn't really implying that the flat spot had any function, just that it wears every single time the knife is opened. The ball rides on the blade, causing a flat spot. :)

Dude, you're jdavis882?? I've been watching your vids for some time and didn't know it. Good shit man...

You can rest assured that you could never wear the bearings though the Ti in your life time. It's kind of a moot point. Once they wear a track into the Ti, the wear rate slows WAY down. If you did nothing but flip this knife constantly every single day until you die, you still probably wouldn't wear the bearings out.

The lock will fail much sooner than the bearings, so again it's kind of a moot point. Although if you want to know just for knowing's sake then that's cool too.
