My 0560 had some lock rock when it came in. I assumed it would break in and be fine. Today, I was checking the rock and the lock completely failed. I have it set up for warranty but should I disassemble and clean the lock faces? Also, the blade side lock face has some wavy lines on it along with the milling marks, should this be?

I could feel some minor lock rock with just a single finger's worth of pressure to the spine. Today, I checked with my index finger on the spine and the blade closed. I can cause lock failure with minor pressure to the spine. I know what abuse is and the pressure I am applying is equivalent to normal use, i.e. if I were to push cut and pull out. If the blade were to leave with any force on the spine, the lock would fail.

If you are going to send the knife in, why on Erth would you want to disassemble it? Just send it in.

Definitely not right. Send it in.

In the box now. I was looking for a quick fix because I don't want to be 6 weeks without it. Despite the failure, I do love the knife.

Usually doesnt take that long. I have never had to wait more than maybe 3 weeks.

They will fix it though.

Something about the 560s. I had one that developed lock rock. Never failed, but I never gave it the chance. Sent it in to ZT and they replaced the lock side ti slab. Traded it soon after, so I'm not sure if that did the job, but I've seen it happen a lot. Shame. It's such a good knife.
