I see a lot of craze over the 0561 vs the 0560.

I'm new to ZT, but not Kershaw.. Is there something I'm missing? Or is it just a vast majority preference of the 0561's G10 over the black? Or are their other differences?

I have a 0560 on preorder because I like the black G10, even though it's traditional.. It's a lot easier to keep clean/hide dirtiness when it gets dirty.

Where I'm coming from, is when you hands get dirty, the lines on your palms turn black. Idk about you but when I clean my PM2's, orange Dodo, etc, the handles turn black from, dirt. I have the end of a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser bar for proof. Not saying your knife doesn't get brown from actual dirt.. But I said DIRTY.

This thread wasn't to debate what color your dirty knife gets, FYI

I'm probably wrong, but at this moment, it seems that the 0561's are more scarce.

It could be that the 0560 has had more runs, I don't know.

But if you look at a popular auction site, you'll notice 3x as many 0560's for sale, and 0561's sell higher.

Demand seems higher for the 0561, in my opinion.

I went with the 0561 because all my tactical style folders are black, time for a change.

Plus IMO the Brown scale looks beautiful, as it doesn't quite mask the outline of the handle as much. It's kinda like Ferrari in black, you just can't see the lines as well as a color like yellow or red. Still looks cool, but hides the sweet curves a bit too much for me. And in my opinion the 056X is a 36-24-36:D

I like black. Hard to think a situation where I would choose a coloured handle over a black one. So 0560 wins for me.

I like the black scales better, because the black hardware blends in better...Black on brown doesn't look right to me..The 561 has three colours, brown, black and
silver ti.I wish the hardware was silver.I had my chance to get a 561,but i'll wait for the 560..

I think Rob is right on the money. I have observed too that the 0560's out there for sale seem to outnumber the 0561's and the latter is carrying a higher price tag on the secondary market because of this.

Interesting because every thread I see just about has more 0651 models used vs 0560. Regardless, if it's a knife I plan on keeping, I don't think I should get a different color just for resale value. They'll both be sought after once they are discontinued.

I wouldn't buy a 056X for resale value. They are going to make thousands of them.

Besides, once you get one in your pocket, you won't want to see it go. Trust me.

I know, I can't wait until mine becomes available at KC. I even found a $5 coupon code lol. I think a nice scale from Peter R will finish out the knife completely.

Stupid question, does swapping scales void the warranty from ZT?

Am I the only one that gets white stains on my black G-10 from the sweat on my hands? The only G-10 that's ever started turning black on me was an orange Tyrade that I dropped in a small puddle of cutting oil. Before that there were white stains on it.

Can't imagine so, since there are alternate scales for the 0550 on the market, I think either made by Rick Hinderer, or by Hinderer+ZT on the market.

I think as long as there are no permanent modifications, like extra holes drilled, it will not void the warranty. If its reversible it should be no problem.

Personally I would get a coyote brown 0561. But I'll wait for the next big run after the high prices fall. Hopefully they will have a tiger striped version by then so some other cool boutique model out.

Plus if I have a brown one and want to change to black, it's a great excuse to get a aftermarket carbon fiber scale.
